Nail bed red at the top, any idea what this is caused from?

My nails just don't look healthy. I've heard you can tell alot by the looks of your nails. My pinky and ring finger nails, on both hands, are white in color, but then almost the whole top half is very pinkish-red, and sometimes have white spots also. the white spots mean you have a calcium deficiency.
