I heard it's a good idea to store nail polish in the refrigerator. Is that true and why?

Yes, it stays fresh and it makes it dry faster..I heard it's a good idea to store nail polish in the refrigerator. Is that true and why?
';A friend of mine who used to sell nail polish, and who did my nails for my wedding, told us that the best place to store your nail polish is in the fridge. So thats what I do now. It doesn鈥檛 go gunky in hot weather either. To stop it from sealing shut, just a little petroleum jelly on the neck of the bottle and on the thread inside the lid should stop that. During the summer I do keep my lipstick, lip balm etc in the refrigerator. It keeps it firm, as it can melt in the heat. I have a nice little box that I keep my moisturizers, powders, foundations, brushes etc in. It keeps the bathroom at least a little bit tidy. ';

**Yes,

most chemicals can be stored longer by keeping them:

- sealed from from air %26amp; moisture (both from getting in or getting out)

- away from ';radiation';, specifically heat, sunlight or bright lights

- cooler but above freezing

****...(when polish is exposed to heat, it thickens and gets hard to apply). Be careful, food and chemicals don't mix! To avoid contaminating Mom's favorite leftovers, store polish in a plastic container before chilling.

When you're ready to do your nails, rub the bottle gently between your palms to warm it up. Don't shake it, shaking mixes air into the polish and causes bubbles.

If you opt for all-natural or organic skin care and cosmetics, you`re products don`t contain any preservatives and will expire before traditional products. Their shelf-life is shorter and their freshness needs to be monitored more closely as to avoid exposing yourself to bacteria and possible infection. Any product, whether organic or not, may have it`s safety and effectiveness compromised by being exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Therefore, it`s best to store your products in a safe place where they will be kept at constant room temperature. Products that have not passed expiration dates but have been exposed to extreme conditions, should not be used.

Makeup products should be renewed after a certain amount of time, whether or not they are empty. It is commonly recommended to replace cosmetics every 12 weeks, although every 8 weeks is better. Products that come in close contact with the eyes, such as mascara and eyeliner - since bacteria are very easily spread here, religiously renew these products at least every 6 weeks.I heard it's a good idea to store nail polish in the refrigerator. ';Storing nail polish in a refrigerator can keep it's consistency just right.';

If you keep your nail polish in a warm place then it changes consistency, because the temperature in a refrigerator is cool and consistent the consitency of the nail polish stays the same and does not become ';gummy';.

Hope this helps x
YES BECAUSE IT KEEPS IT FRESH AND MAKES IT LAST LONGER AND THE NAILPOLISH WONT CLUMP UP SO FAST AND IF YOU WANT TO APPLY THE POLISH INSTEAD OF SHAKING IT, ROLL IT BETWEEN UR HANDS SO THAT THERE WONT BE ANY BUBBLES IN THE BOTTEL AND NO BUBBLES WHEN U APPLY IT ON THE NAIL. HOPE THIS HELPED YOU BECAUSE IM A NAIL SALON WORKER AND ARTIST SO I DO KNOW AND YOU CAN ALSO PUT A LITTLE PETROLEUM JELLY ON THE NECK OF THE BOTTEL AND ON THE BRUSH INSIDE THE LID AND IT WONT GET STUCK IF TRYING TO OPEN IT .
heat will make polish thicken. i keep mine in a big box under my bed and just use polish thinner if i need it. dont use remover to thin it! thatll just make it unusable.
Keeping nail polish in the refrigerator is great because it keeps its consistency.

Hope i could help =]
it is cool you can put any where not only for nail
