I've hammered a nail into a gas pipe, any idea how much it will cost to get sorted?

An emergency gas engineer came out and said that I will have to get a corgi engineer to either re-route the pipe or remove a section of the wall. I'm worried that it is going to cost a lot, and was wondering if it had happened to anyone, or anyone can advise me on what to do, or give me an idea of the price.I've hammered a nail into a gas pipe, any idea how much it will cost to get sorted?
I will assume that this is a corrugated, flexible gas line. Depending on the length of the pipe, will determine how extensive the repair will be. A good serviceman, can start with a small inspection hole, and determine the direction the line is running, and open up only enough wall to access the problem area. If the pipe is running vertically, maybe just a small hole will be required, but if it is running horizontally, then it is harder to determine where the line originates. Call around, and get some estimates, from local companies, before deciding on who will fix the problem. Good luck!I've hammered a nail into a gas pipe, any idea how much it will cost to get sorted?
I don't know what it will cost, but a plumber can do the work. It will involve cutting a large enough hole in the wallboard to work in, cutting out the section of damaged pipe and inserting a new piece. You'll have to repair the wall yourself, or hire someone additional. I'm going to guess two hundred dollars U.S. for the pipe repair and one hundred for a handyman to repair the wall.
Hammered a nail into a gas line.......you will have a large gas bill this month....consider the cheapest option....fix it or ignite it by accident.....and break the sound barrier on the way down....
never put a nail in a gas pipe
In UK this is a CORGI matter. It is illegal to get someone to repair it unless CORGI registered. Plumbing skills are required so you can do it yourself if its your property but not otherwise.
Forget about the cost or does your life have a price
I am assuming its all been made safe. I would wait till the morning(emergency firms will sting you), go to the corgi website and you will be able to find all the gas engineers in your post code. then have a ring round, any decent engineer should be able to sort this out without any fuss. Prices wil vary dependent where you are in the country.

Hope this helps
